Minister George Freeman on Oxford's low-carbon transport
The Oxford Times reports on Transport Minister George Freeman MP meeting with Oxon County Council Leader Ian Hudspeth and Oxford City Council Cabinet Member Alex Hollingsworth to discuss the two councils’ plans for a low-carbon future for transport.
Apparently this included discussions on reducing congestion using “measures to encourage more people onto buses, rail and cycle networks”. They also discussed a zero emissions zone in central Oxford to tackle air pollution.
How can the Ox-Cam expressway be promoted by the government? The expressway and 1 million new homes would massively increase carbon emissions and air pollution.
