At the Stop the Arc Group we take data privacy very seriously. We will never publicly share information about you, your conversations with us, or your donations without your express consent.

Signing up to our email list

We store names, email addresses and post codes of anyone who signs up to our mailing list to receive campaign news in a third-party email management programme called Mailchimp. This programme makes it quick and easy for us to compose and send campaign news, updates and reminders of events local to your postcode. The login details for Mailchimp are stored securely, known only to a very few people, and will never be shared with anyone who does not need to use or monitor the system on behalf of the Stop the Arc Group Ltd.

If you’d like to know how Mailchimp securely stores and processes the personal information we pass to them, please read the Mailchimp Privacy Policy, which Mailchimp is responsible for keeping up to date.

If you would like us to stop emailing you and delete your contact information from Mailchimp, please click “unsubscribe” in one of our emails, or contact us directly and ask to be removed.

Your conversations with us

We will only use the personal information you supply to us via the contact form on this website or sent directly to stopthearc@gmail.com (for example, your name, email address or telephone number) to contact you as requested. If you email us directly we will not add you to our mailing list unless we have your express permission.

Cookies

We may store information about your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths using cookies (files that are sent by us to your computer or other access device) which we can access when you visit our site in future. We do this to understand our website traffic better and to help us make improvements to the website.

If you want to delete any cookies that are already on your computer, please refer to the instructions for your file management software to locate the file or directory that stores cookies.

Personal Data and Donations

We securely collect and process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Processing online donations

  • Keeping a record of the UK tax status of donors so that we can reclaim tax on some donations

When you make a donation to the Stop the Arc Group via the website, your name, address, debit/credit card or Paypal details and postcode are collected and processed by a donations-administration platform called Donorbox and a payment-processing platform called Stripe.

You can view their privacy policies here:

https://donorbox.org/privacy

https://stripe.com/gb/privacy

https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full

We use these platforms only for donations, tax and administration purposes. When we log in to Stripe or Donorbox platforms we can see your name, address, email address and the last four digits of your card number and the other information you provided (such as UK tax status). It is not possible for us to trigger further donations or change your donation amount – nor would we want to.

Our campaign bank account retains our original ‘No Expressway Group’ name for the time being.

The login details for Donorbox, PayPal and Stripe are known only to the Stop the Arc Group data protection officer and to the Stop the Arc Group Ltd official Treasurer who submits donation and Gift Aid information to HMRC.

We continue to review our privacy policies and welcome any comments or questions about how we store personal information now or in the future.

If at any time you would like to know what information we hold about you or request its removal, please contact the Stop the Arc Group Ltd data protection officer at stopthearc@gmail.com.
