Oxon County Milton Keynes Councils have signed Non Disclosure Agreements with Highways England (HE)
Emma Tristram who has fought a successful Judicial Review against HE’s proposals for the Arundel Bypass made a damning speech to MPs about HE’s misuse of evidence in the Arundel Bypass project
Cllr Tim Bearder is reported accusing ministers of trying to stall discussion on potentially damaging development in the Oxford-Cambridge arc.
The High Court has ruled against BBOWT’s legal challenge to Highways England not completing a Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitats Regulation Assessment. BBOWT says this means a potentially devastating impact on the environment and wildlife. They are taking advice on whether to appeal.
The NEG group has been busy over the last two weeks taking our travelling pagoda to Ludgershall Bike Night, Waddesdon and Islip village fetes and Market on the Green in Horton-cum-Studley. We’ve also presented at the No Expressway Alliance General Meeting. We continue to raise awareness and make useful contacts.
Walk the Moor had beautiful weather again this year, was very well attended and very merry! Thanks to all who put so much time and effort into organising this.
There’s a new petition to cancel the Expressway as “it will adversely affect population health and wellbeing, climate change, local ecology and the countryside”. Sign here
What’s next
Awaiting Highways England’s response to our Freedom of Information request regarding which stakeholders have been sent NDA’s and who has signed them.
Meeting with Highways England on 30th July to discuss how and when they will undertake public consultation and their aspirational growth figures
Continue to update our noexpressway.org website, add news and drive traffic to NEG page on Facebook, put up new signs and raise awareness

We need your help
No Expressway Group believes there is no need for an Oxford-Cambridge Expressway, nor the over-inflated housing targets associated with it, and we will actively campaign against it and support other organisations with the same objectives.
Our environment is a national asset which is critical for everyone’s health and well-being. We must not let it be destroyed.
Your donations help us to spread information about the Expressway, run and build support for the campaign:
£10 could pay for one roadside Correx poster
£15 could pay for one roadside poster on a wooden stake
£20 could pay for one A1 printed colour poster for our pagoda display
£35 could pay for 250 A5 printed leaflets for the campaign
£70 could pay for one pole and two panels for our travelling pagoda display
£150 could pay for one feather flag for our travelling pagoda

The No Expressway Group has a group bank account to which the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are signatories. The group will publish accounts on noexpressway.org each year which will be audited by an accountant from outside the NEG group.
If any funds are left at the end of the campaign, these will be donated equally between RSPB and BBOWT.
