Oxon County Council letter to Robert Jenrick MP December 10, 2019

Ian Hudspeth letter to RJenrick Dec 2019.PNG

Oxon County Council Leader Cllr Ian Hudspeth writes to Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government Robert Jenrick MP

In the letter Cllr Hudspeth states that “Oxfordshire does not support the building of the Expressway irrespective of which route is chosen.”

However, he also writes “The delivery of the railway line will ensue the delivery of the growth and housing required,”.

Does this mean Cllr Ian Hudspeth and / or the Oxon County Council supports doubling housing stock in Oxfordshire and the total, grossly over-inflated, housing target of 1 million new houses by 2050 across the Ox-Cam Arc? Is this confirmation of what Grant Shapps told BBC Oxford, that Local Authorities have said the housing can be delivered with or without the expressway?

Cllr Ian Hudspeth wrote this letter as a requirement of the motion to oppose the Ox-Cam Expressway which was passed at Oxfordshire County Council meeting on 5th November.

We urgently need your help.

Your donations are needed now, to help us run the campaign and pay for political consultants and other professional experts to bring this campaign to the attention of Westminster as well as local politicians.

No Expressway Group believes there is no need for an Oxford-Cambridge Expressway, nor the over-inflated housing targets associated with it, and we will actively campaign against it and support other organisations with the same objectives.

Our environment is a national asset which is critical for everyone’s health and well-being. We must not let it be destroyed.

Your donations help us to spread information about the Expressway, run and build support for the campaign:

Please note:

The No Expressway Group has a group bank account to which the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are signatories. The group will publish accounts on noexpressway.org each year which will be audited by an accountant from outside the NEG group.
