Opposition grows to £3.5bn Oxford to Cambridge Expressway
ITV News Meridian report on Bucks County Council being the latest Council to come out against the proposed Ox-Cam Expressway.
The report includes an interview with Cllr Angela Macpherson, who said “[The Expressway] will be detrimental to our environment, detrimental to our wildlife,” and “It will also fly in the face of carbon reduction targets that the government themselves are setting to be carbon neutral by 2050.”
NB There is a slight error in this report, as they state that “Highways England has now chosen its two preferred route options. One passing to the west of Oxford - and one to the east.” NB this is not correct. Highways England has chosen its preferred corridor, Corridor B, with sub-options (or different areas of the corridor) B1 and B3 running West and East of Oxford respectively. The route options have not yet been announced.
